Reports on the highly anticipated iPhone 5 continue to roll in as the latest suggests Apple is set to launch the product on October 7.
A story from TiPB claims the tech giant has penciled an early October release, but that's not the date true Apple aficionados should mark on their calenders.
Unlike the iPad 2, Apple is reportedly planning to accept preorders for the iPhone 5 beginning September 29 or 30.
The release date and purported preorders have yet to be confirmed but All Things D's John Paczkowski cites "sources with knowledge of the situation" in a PCWorld story.
New features
Along with the reported release date, speculation into the iPhone 5 has tech experts predicting new features including the A5 dual-core processor from the iPad 2 and an upgraded camera (potentially 8 megapixels).
